Bethel Woods is currently seeking a seasonal employee who will focus on the daily care of seasonal flower displays at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. This position requires a thorough knowledge of annual and perennial flowers. This includes water and fertilizer needs, proper soil preparation and planting procedures, knowledge of plant pests and diseases. This is a full-time Seasonal position from April to September.

Requirements: must have a minimum of 3 years experience in floral care, must be detail oriented, operate small equipment such as hedge trimmers and cultivators, overtime and some weekend work required, wear specific clothing (uniform) on a daily basis and have a valid Driver's License.

Two part-time computer technicians are needed for the summer of 2010. Duties include attending some or all of the pavilion shows in the summer line-up to provide network, PC and telephone support to the crew producing the shows. Hours will be flexible as needed up to 30 hours per week most weeks of the summer. Some daytime hours will be required Thursdays - Sundays at the museum. Responsibilities will be similar to show day duties; support will be provided to the Information Technology department to install software, trouble-shoot PCs, and provide some user training and support. Prior experience not required, but a successful candidate will have a strong command of Windows XP, routers, switches and hubs, critical reasoning skills and a willingness to learn on the job. museum floor manager (seasonal)

The Museum Floor Manager is primarily a guest relations position, creating a team environment for seasonal part-time staff and volunteers in the museum and setting a high standard of customer service, knowledge, and poise. During the summer season, there will be two Floor Managers (weekday, Monday-Thursday, and weekend, Friday-Sunday) to provide full coverage during regular museum hours and some occasional additional hours. During spring and fall hours, there will only be a weekend floor manager. This is an hourly position, not to exceed 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Work with museum staff to develop training materials for museum floor staff, take a lead role in orientation and ongoing training of museum floor staff, schedule museum greeters and supervise seasonal museum greeters, work with volunteer manager to ensure that gallery volunteers are fully scheduled and that all volunteers shifts are fully covered and work closely with box office staff to ensure proper guest flow through the museum and to help resolve guest relations issues that arise.
