Event Details
P.L.A.Y. (Peace. Love. Arts. You.) is a fun-filled summer arts program for kids ages 5-14, set on the legendary grounds of the 1969 Woodstock festival! Led by professional teaching artists, kids will dive into music, painting, sculpture, digital design, and more, sparking creativity and community in an unforgettable setting. Register by the week to fit your summer plans—but hurry, spots fill fast!
Ages 7-9 Dig in and Develop
7-9 year old artists will start to build specific skills in the arts with structured curriculum that includes collaborative projects, special musical activities, and time in nature to inspire creativity. The program also includes enriching museum visits and weekly guests that connect kids to the rich history and legacy of our community and Bethel Woods.

What time does the program start and end?
Drop off begins at 8:45 AM, with programming beginning at 9:00 AM. Pick-up is at 4:00 PM. To keep traffic moving, we practice contactless pick up and drop off in our traffic circle. Program staff will greet you at your vehicle to check children in and out of the program. Tours of the spaces can be scheduled with program staff. Early drop off and/or extended care is not provided.
Are meals or snacks provided?
Children should come to P.L.A.Y. with a packed lunch and snacks that they enjoy. We take 2 snack breaks and a lunch break throughout the day. We always have water coolers accessible (pack a reusable water bottle!). Bethel Woods will provide one afternoon snack daily.
Do you provide transportation?
Currently, we are not offering transportation. However, if transportation is a barrier to participation, please reach out to us at education@bethelwoodscenter.org so that we can help you investigate solutions.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes. Tuition assistance, up to 100%, is available. Details are provided in the application.
What is the staff to participant ratio?
For 5-6 year olds: 1:5
For 7-9 year olds: 1:6
For 10-12 year olds: 1:6
How much time will my child get to spend outside?
Our program is set up to allow for art and music making activities, as well as free play, both indoors and outdoors, rain or shine. We spend as much time as we can outside, with tented spaces for structured activities, open lawn space for running and play, and wooded trails for short hikes and nature exploration. We always take the heat index and other forecasted weather into account when planning our daily schedule, but encourage participants to wear/bring bug spray, sunscreen, and weather appropriate clothing to program.
Can my child bring a device?
No, we do not permit students to use their cell phones unless there is an emergency. If you feel compelled to send your child to program with a cell phone, please discuss usage with them prior to program. Phones are to be stored in backpacks at all times.
