Embark on a fun and social journey into the world of digital photography with our 6-week beginner/intermediate class at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. This isn't just a course, it's a chance to meet fellow photography enthusiasts while enjoying evenings filled with creativity, laughter, and new friendships!
No Experience? No Problem!
Whether you've always wanted to take better vacation photos, finally understand what all those camera buttons actually do, or just want a creative night out with adults who share your interests, this course welcomes all skill levels. Teaching artists Marika Robak and Kandace Gittleman create a relaxed, judgment-free zone where questions are encouraged and mistakes are celebrated as part of the learning process.

Each session blends hands-on practice with lively group discussions where you'll:

Meet Your Instructors
Marika Robak, Lead Teaching Artist
Marika Robak was born in Harris, N.Y., and received her M.F.A. from Pratt Institute. She investigates the “man-altered landscape” and candid imagery characteristic of street and documentary photography. Marika has enjoyed teaching aspiring artists of all ages for 9 years and hopes to never stop. She is currently a Photography Instructor at PhotoUno Photography School in NY., NY and a Digital & Studio Arts Instructor at One River School of Art & Design in Millburn, NJ. Marika previously co-led two adults digital photography programs at Bethel Woods. She is excited to continue her teaching artisry in Museum Education and Creative Programs with this series, and beyond.
Kandace Gittleman, Assistant Teaching Artist
Kandace Gittleman is an experienced designer and photographer possessing both the creative and technical skills to create beautiful landscape and portrait photography. She began early on with film, developing 35mm negatives and dark room printing and progressed into digital artistry staying current on the latest equipment, software and trends. Kandace is Proficient in Adobe Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop and Apple iPhoto. She is also the founder of successful interior design firm and currently residing in Sullivan County. Kandace has co-led photography programs for both teens and adults at Bethel Woods and is looking forward to meeting a new class of adult learners this spring.
Dates & Times
This is a 6-week course, meeting on Mondays from May 5 to June 16 (no class on 5/26). Classes are 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

No, digital cameras are available to use, or bring your own. All you need is curiosity and a sense of adventure!
