In this two-week program, participants delve into the rich history of rock music, exploring its rhythms and the influential musicians who shaped the iconic rock songs and cultural landscape of the 1960s.
Focusing on classic rock instruments and styles, young musicians will collaborate both individually and in groups under the guidance of experienced musicians and instructors to form the ultimate rock ensemble.
Students will undergo an initial intake assessment and be further evaluated by instructors to determine their skill level and placement in either the beginner, intermediate, or advanced sections of the camp, where they'll have the opportunity to learn, grow and perform alongside their peers of similar proficiency. The program culminates in an electrifying performance featuring a mix of original compositions and classic rock covers.
About the Series
Peace. Love. Arts. You. Programs invite children ages 5-15 to explore the creative arts this summer at beautiful Bethel Woods, historic site of the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair!
P.L.A.Y. Special offerings create a unique opportunity for children ages 10-15 to hone in on the specifics of various arts modalities from art and music to film and theater in very specialized two-week long sessions. Guided by our Bethel Woods Teaching Artists and selected special guests, participants will engage, connect, and deepen their skills while weaving together Bethel Woods themes of community, caring, and creativity.
