Bethel Woods offers professional artists the opportunity to inspire and educate audiences of all ages and abilities in an idyllic landscape, rich with history.
Teaching Artists, recruited through expansive outreach efforts and partnerships with local and regional arts organizations, are contracted for a 12 month residency wherein they are guided toward program selection that is well matched to their skills and interests.
Opportunities to teach are part-time, project-based, and compensated with stipends at a flat rate per program. Museum Education and Creative Programs hosts an initial training that familiarizes Teaching Artists with our programs, museum collection and docent tours, Bethel Woods’ history and values, and organizational policies.
Ongoing professional development opportunities are presented throughout the year to prepare Teaching Artists to work with varying populations, support their creative vision, and ignite mission-driven passion to teach at Bethel Woods.
