P.L.A.Y. All Day | Ages 5-6

Imaginations will be hard at work in this interactive and rewarding introduction to the creative process. Each week long session will include daily outdoor explorations of our historic grounds, art-based projects that experiment with different mediums and techniques, storytelling, social play, and lots of fun!

Participants will engage with our talented teaching artists to increase their foundational skills in the arts through the creation of individual and collaborative projects and daily walks on the campus or through a Museum visits, all while team-building and socializing with their peers in a fun, casual environment.

In this two-week program, participants delve into the rich history of rock music, exploring its rhythms and the influential musicians who shaped the iconic rock songs and cultural landscape of the 1960s.

MONDAY-FRIDAY, JULY 15-19

Through a mix of digital design and hands-on activities, participants will engage in the process of conceptualization, layout design, and basic print techniques to communicate their message effectively in creating their own self-promotional poster.

With guidance from experienced instructors and industry professionals, students will dive into the intricacies of storytelling, cinematography, directing, and editing, honing their skills through hands-on workshops and practical exercises, as well as an exploration that spans across genres.

Students will work independently and collaboratively to create short animations, which can be shared with family and friends, at the conclusion of the program.

P.L.A.Y. Rock Opera | Ages 10-15

MONDAY-FRIDAY, JULY 29-AUGUST 9

 Through a combination of workshops, rehearsals, and collaborative projects, musical talents, stage presence, and teamwork skills will all be devleoped. From vocal coaching to instrument instruction, from choreography to costume and set design, every aspect of the rock opera experience will be explored and honed.

P.L.A.Y. Fine Arts | Ages 10-15

MONDAY-FRIDAY, AUGUST 12-23

Led by experienced teaching artists, participants will explore their interests and curiosities while learning the foundational aspects of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and more, drawing inspiration from the historic site and legacy of Bethel Woods.

P.L.A.Y. Game Lab | Ages 10-12

MONDAY-FRIDAY, AUGUST 12-16

Using computer programs like Minecraft, Scratch, and Stencyl, participants aged 10-12 will play and build collaboratively with peers and talented Teaching Artists from Game Design disciplines. This process based, hands-on program will take place both in Bethel Woods’ Mac Lab, and outside on our beautiful historic grounds.
